Monet In Paris Exhibition Review: Perth Information & Guide
Thinking of buying tickets to the Monet in Paris exhibition in Perth? I went on the 18th November and I want to tell you all about it! In this post I provide information about this new multi-sensory experience and what I thought of it.
In the world of art, few names evoke the essence of Impressionism as vividly as Claude Monet. The Monet in Paris exhibition is a testament to his enduring legacy and artistic brilliance.

Monet in Paris Perth Dates
Opens Thursday, 16th November 2023 and runs until Sunday, 4th February 2024.
Where is the Monet in Paris Exhibition?
Monet in Paris is held in Le Grand Palais, a custom-built pavilion in Crown Perth, Burswood. The closest car park is near the Swan River side.
What is Le Grand Palais?
The 2,500 square metre Le Grand Palais, one of the biggest movable exhibition buildings in the world, was designed by Australian theatre designer Anna Cordingley.
Exploring the Monet in Paris Exhibition
If you’ve been to the Van Gogh Alive Grande Experience, this is similar with the same SENSORY4™ technology. A 360-degree, fully immersive exhibition through 19th-century Impressionist Paris.
You enter Le Grand Palais, complete with a Moulin Rouge windmill and Parisian-themed café, to the exhibition. The cafe is the perfect place to buy a drink which you can take through to the exhibition.
As soon as you enter, you’re in a room filled with colourful flowers. I took some photos along with a few other people, but there was plenty of space to get a photo on my own.
Once through to the large open area, the huge screens were filled with projections of Monet’s art. Most people sat on the carpet, so I found a spot to take it all in.
The experience includes projections of Monet’s works, including ‘Water Lilies’ and other impressionists of the time. Artists Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Berthe Morisot, and Mary Cassatt have paintings displayed on an enormous scale.
This immersive experience spans Monet’s iconic landscapes, cityscapes, and gardens. Each brushstroke invites you to witness the world through his eyes. It’s not just a visual experience, breathe in through your nose to encompass the smells. You may recognise lemon, lime, jasmine, geranium, orange flower, patchouli, cedarwood, musk and pine.
Designed to walk around, this experience doesn’t have many seats. However, there are a few chairs scattered around for those with low mobility.
Please note that Monet in Paris is a cashless venue.

Is Monet in Paris Worth the Money?
Visiting the exhibition is a must if you want to immerse yourself in Monet’s world. I enjoyed it. Was it better than Van Gogh Alive? In my opinion, no. But I prefer Van Gogh’s work over Monet.
Was it worth the money? Yes, if you enjoy art. I was happy to pay the price to see this exhibition. I wouldn’t have spent the extra money to bring our teenagers though.
