Best 5 Mission Beach Accommodation on Airbnb

Are you looking for Mission Beach accommodation on Airbnb? Our family have stayed in Mission Beach twice, both on Queensland road trips from Brisbane to Cairns. This is my review and recommendations of the best Airbnbs to stay at while you are on holiday there. I’ve handpicked the very best holiday rentals, short term lets, and resorts so that you won’t be disappointed.

Edit: Since writing this post, I’ve decided not to recommend Airbnb any more. There are a couple of reasons: one is that I have found them to be more expensive than other booking sites like Stayz or Booking.Com and the second is that I don’t agree with their treatment of their ex-affiliate members and home owners. Therefore, I have replaced my links with a cheaper alternative if there is one.

Where is Mission Beach?

Mission Beach is a beachside town in tropical Queensland, Australia.

Castaways Resort Mission Beach

We stayed at Castaways Resort both times on our travels to Mission Beach. It is located right on the beachfront with views and access to the 14km white sandy beach. The resort has a leisure pool, 25m lap pool, restaurant and bar, plus a gym.

The restaurant, Buko, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We ate dinner at Buko and the service was great, food was delicious, and the island views were amazing. The reviews seem to indicate that it’s a bit hit and miss but we enjoyed our meal there and liked the ambience.

The Beachfront Two Bedroom Apartment has a master bedroom with a queen bed and the second bedroom with two single beds. The Beachfront Resort rooms feature a Queen Bed and a Single Bed, great for couples or a small family.

If you’re after a bit of luxury, the Doorilla is a three bedroom Penthouse Apartment located a three minute walk from the beach. Although not part of Castaways, Airbnb guests have free access to the resort facilities.

Nautilus Reef and Rainforest Apartments

These are two 2-bedroom apartments next to each other, great for families travelling together, or you can rent them separately. Located 450m from Mission Village/Beach with all the restaurants, shops, and pub. The modern stone-topped kitchens are equipped with everything you would need for your stay and bathrooms have a washing machine and dryer. The air-conditioned apartments each have one King Bed and one Queen Bed and two outside areas each to relax.

Both apartments have received a 5 star rating from previous guests, many of whom said they would stay again. Read the reviews and check the price by clicking below.

Casa Palma

Casa Palma is a one-bedroom villa (like a granny flat) close to Mission Beach and restaurants. It’s beautifully decorated and has a kitchen complete with oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The house is air-conditioned and guests have use of the plunge pool and cabana. Continental breakfast provisions are also provided.

Casa Palma is very popular and gets booked out months in advance. To see if your dates are available, click here.

These luxurious beach huts are located just steps away from beautiful Mission Beach. Sejala huts have reverse cycle air conditioning and overhead fan, with luxury linen and L’Occitane toiletries provided, a queen size bed and day bed, ensuite bathroom, beach chairs and beach towels, smart TV, a hammock on the veranda, gas barbecue, kitchenette with a Nespresso coffee machine, welcome breakfast pack and a solar heated pool privately tucked away in the garden.

Words don’t do this property justice. Have a look at the photos here.

The Bungalows Mission Beach

These beachfront villas are situated on a secluded 5 acre estate right on Wongaling Beach. Each bungalow has views of the Coral Sea and a path leading down to the beach. There’s an outdoor swimming pool and free bikes, stand up paddle boards and sea kayaks are available for use by guests.

  1. What a gorgeous beach – reminds me of Golden Bay in NZ, except for the palm trees! I love the sound of all those accommodation options and would be happy to be booked into any of them since they all sound rather luxurious 🙂
