Why Holiday Inn Phuket is excellent for families

Are you looking for a child-friendly hotel in Phuket? We thought the Holiday Inn Phuket was excellent for families and can’t wait to return.

Location

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and one of Asia‘s most popular beach destinations.

Holiday Inn Phuket is located in Patong, just across the road from the beautiful sandy beach. It’s within walking distance to Jungceylon Shopping Centre and the night markets are just around the corner.

Even though it’s on a busy road, once you step through the gates, you are in a tropical paradise.

Family Rooms

The Main Wing of Holiday Inn Phuket is best for families and has lovely rooms, each with their own private balcony or terrace. Families have the option of a kids suite or interconnecting rooms. The kids suite is one large room separated by a partition where there is a specially designed area for two children with bunk beds, tv and Xbox 360. If you want a bit more privacy (or don’t want to go to bed when the kids do) then the family suites are the way to go. Essentially two rooms interconnecting, each with their own bathroom, but the kids one is decorated in a theme (we had the pirate one). You get a lot more room but, obviously, at a cost.

Kids Club and Facilities

The Kids’ Club is free for children between the ages of five and 10 and includes Xbox 360, movies and games. It also has its own pool with a slide, fountains and shallow areas. The Main Wing also has a family swimming pool with a toddler pool.

Restaurants

There’s plenty of dining options within the hotel so we never had to go far if the girls were hungry. Our favourite was Terrazzo with its alfresco dining overlooking the beach. We loved people watching while having a cocktail or two while the sunset and then having a tasty pizza. The Charm Thai restaurant was excellent too on both the times we ate there. We found it to be authentic and tasty with lovely views across the Busakorn pool. The buffet breakfast at Sea Breeze Cafe is still one of the best breakfast buffets we’ve had and lots of choices.

Thai’s love children and here is no exception. The girls were so spoilt and the staff truly loved interacting with them.

One of the best reasons for staying at the Holiday Inn, is their Kids Eat Free Policy. Children aged 12 and under can eat free from the kids’ menu at certain restaurants when with a full paying adult.

We use Booking.Com to book our family accommodation due to their competitive pricing and ease of cancelation in most cases.

  1. What a beautiful property and that water looks so inviting! I’ve never been to Thailand, but Southeast Asia in general is one of my dream destinations that I’d love to explore in depth.

  2. It seems like Holiday Inn Phuket is a family-friendly place and fun for the kids. We went to Australia some years ago but we stayed on the east coast from Sydney to Port Douglas. My husband dived in Big Barrier Reef. He was born in New South Wales. Your twin daughters must have fun with each other.

    • Thank you for your comment Miriam. The east coast of Australia is beautiful, I especially love tropical North Queensland and diving the GBR is pretty cool. My girls are 12 now and the best of friends, they have such an incredible bond. Enjoy your day 😊
