Esperance, found in the southern part of Western Australia, is known for its natural beauty, incredible marine life, and kangaroos on the beach. There are many accommodation options, ranging from camping and caravan parks to luxury stays. This article provides you with a list of the best accommodation options in Esperance.

Esperance Accommodation Luxury

Esperance Chalet Village

Esperance is not the destination for luxury resorts. It’s a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There is only one place that I consider true luxury accommodation – Esperance Chalet Village.

This adult-only property features cute a-frame chalets, log cabins, and king shacks set amongst native bushland. Fall asleep to the sound of waves as you relax in the fresh white linen.

It’s a great location to unwind or reenergize at the end of the day, especially near the fireplace under the stars.

As well as Esperance Chalet Village, the Jetty Resort is also highly rated.

This resort opposite Esperance’s Main Beach has various rooms to suit all travellers, including suites, apartments, and family rooms.

Facilities include an outdoor pool, barbecues, and a children’s playground.

Esperance Bed & Breakfast

Alexander Drive B&B

This suburban bed and breakfast has its own private entrance through an enclosed patio that has a BBQ, and table and chairs. The room has its own bathroom and a separate room with a small kitchenette area.

The hosts supply a Continental Breakfast, which includes a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, toast, and tea & coffee.

Esperance Farmstay

Nutcrackers Lodge Farmstay

This three-bedroom cottage overlooks paddocks where sheep, cows, chickens, and emus roam freely (you can also feed them). The property is a seven-minute drive from town and can sleep up to nine guests in two queen sizes beds, three singles and a sofa bed.

Esperance Bay Holiday Park

The Esperance Bay Holiday Park was our choice of accommodation in Esperance and one that we were incredibly happy with. It’s in an excellent location – one street back from The Esplanade and a short stroll into the town centre.

Our two-bedroom chalet was immaculate and had a comfortable Queen size bed in one bedroom and bunk beds in the other. The kitchen had a full-size fridge-freezer, microwave, gas top, and pod coffee machine. There’s a dining/lounge area with a sofa and dining table and chairs with a tv.

We’ve stayed in many chalets, and this was one of the cleanest and spacious. The only downside was the WIFI which wasn’t very good, so we used our mobile data.

Esperance Beachfront Resort

This budget accommodation has a motel vibe to it (could be the exposed brick walls!). However, it’s in a great spot, right on The Esplanade. Each chalet has a kitchen with an oven, a microwave and a refrigerator, and a separate living room.

Esperance Island View Apartments

This complex feature one and two-storey apartments, conveniently located on The Esplanade. The funky design features natural timber or terracotta floors with crisp linen and are ideal for couples, families, small groups, and corporate guests.

The spacious apartments offer a living and dining room, fully equipped kitchen and laundry, balcony or courtyard, private BBQ, beach access, and 24-hour reception.

Driftwood Apartments

Driftwood Apartments offer chalet-style accommodation right on Esperance Esplanade and Foreshore. The single storey one and two-bedroom apartments are rated 3.5 stars and the double-storey ones are rated 4.5 stars.

The double storey apartments have two bedrooms, a spa bathroom, laundry amenities, a spacious living area, dining, and kitchen. The balcony has ocean views with an outdoor setting and BBQ. 

Esperance Motel

Captain Huon Motel

Captain Huon Motel offers serviced accommodation on Esperance Esplanade. There’s a choice of an open-plan unit with a kitchenette or a two-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and dining area.

Esperance Accommodation dog friendly

I like the look of this Granite Townhouse – it’s in a central location, fully self-contained, three bedrooms, free WIFI and Netflix and reverse cycle air-conditioning. The reviews are excellent and it is good value.

Pets must be kept out of the carpeted areas and off the beds. Advise hosts when booking.

Esperance Caravan Parks

Camping in Esperance is popular, so you will need to book in advance, especially during peak season (WA school holidays).

The best rated caravan park is the one we stayed at – Esperance Bay Holiday Park. Facilities include a playground, amenities block, barbecue area, laundry, camp kitchen, and free WIFI. This campsite is pet-friendly (except in the accommodation).

Another highly rated campsite is Bathers Paradise Caravan Park, 3.5km east of the main town centre and a minute walk from Castletown Quays Beach. They have powered and unpowered sites (these are tent size only) with a choice of fully grassed or hard caravan sites. Dogs are allowed except for the summer and Easter WA school holidays.

The other caravan parks in Esperance are Bushlands Caravan Park, RAC Esperance Holiday Park, Pink Lake Tourist Park, and Acclaim Pine Grove Holiday Park.
