a big ferris wheel with palm trees in a city

The Singapore Flyer is one of the world’s largest observation wheel at a height of 165m. From the top, you can see views of Marina Bay Sands as well as the rest of the city and out to sea. It’s an iconic landmark against the city skyline and a popular attraction for tourists.

It was opened in 2008 after two and a half years of construction and cost a staggering S$240 million to build. . The London Eye and Eiffel Tower played a big part in its design by Dr. Kisho Kurokawa of Japan and DP Architects.

The capsules have an air cooling system as well as UV windows to protect from the sun and the heat. Each one can hold 28 people but we were lucky enough to have a whole one to ourselves. I have no idea how we managed that!

This giant wheel can hold up to a staggering 784 people at one time.

The Singapore Flyer is now open daily from 10 am to 10 pm (last admission at 9:30pm).

Where is the Singapore Flyer?

The Singapore Flyer is located at 30 Raffles Ave. The nearest MRT station is The Promenade which is an easy 5-minute walk to the Flyer. You will need to take Exit A and then follow the blue signs.

How Much is The Singapore Flyer?

The ticket price for the Singapore Flight is S$33 for adults (13 and older) and S$21 for children (3-12). Children under 3 ride for free.

There are other types of tickets available but we only did the standard ride. Book through Klook for the same price with instant confirmation and free cancellation before redemption.

We thought it was a great experience to do while in Singapore and worth the cost. It was a good way to get a different perspective of the city and see the other attractions from above.

How long is the Singapore Flyer ride?

The ferris wheel takes around 30 minutes for one rotation so plenty of time to take in the view and get some great photos.

When is the best time to visit The Singapore Flyer?

We went during the day but the best time to visit the Singapore Flyer would be at sunset. This, however, is the most popular time, so be prepared for it to be busy. I recommend booking tickets ahead.

Dinner with a view

There are several types of food outlets located at the Singapore Flyer. Whether you just fancy an ice cream or some Dim Sum, you can get it here before or after your ride.

If you are after an amazing experience, you can have dinner in the capsule.
